How wonderful that in spite of all the setbacks, you were able to provide a grand day for your Dad's 100th. Well done, Denyse!

What a challenging year you have had but look how you have overcome it. You are so resilient! My psychologist told me that when you’re facing adversity it’s always good to remind yourself that you can do hard things! I take my hat off to you and wish you all the very best for the holidays xx

Hi Denyse you have certainly had a challenging year. I do remember when you had Covid and RSV. I think we can be hard on ourselves at times, but it seems to me that you did everything you could to stay calm and keep those around you happy. As we all know that's not easy at times. As usual, I'm in awe at your introspection.

Thanks so much Jennifer. I am, right now, feeling very depleted and when I consider what has been happening this year, I have the answer.

I am taking steps to help me reduce 'inner pressure' and I know I can find more time out over the next little while and enjoy the life we have now.

I appreciate your kindness and compliment.

Take care,

Denyse x

Hi Denyse, it's certainly been a big year for you in many ways. The worry of renters is universal and I totally understand your concerns. That quote about problems being solved is true but easier said than done in many cases. We can all be too hard on ourselves at times but look at what you achieved, you made it happen and it all worked out well for your family. Well done you!!!

Thanks for sharing with us for Min's #WWWhimsy linkup.

I like that quote about worry - it's true. But i tend to be a bit of a worrier. I'm in awe of friends that can just 'cross that bridge' if they come to it. However, I'm an improvement on my mum and i hope my kids are an improvement on me.

HI hope your Christmas is better this year - though over the last week we had 5 friends cancel on 4 concerts - two of them missed 3 concerts (we were paid but they lost money). There is def something nasty about!

Thanks for your kind words and good wishes.

I have been affected by burn out and it results in exhaustion and IBS at times. So I am not missing being hyped up for anything...and am caring for myself, under B's watchful eye, well.

Change is hard and I've experienced so much in the past years I need to have some time out. Nevertheless, I am buoyed by kind words and care from my on-line friends.

Worry is an inherited tendency...and I agree we hope our kids don't have it but hey....

Take care,

Hi Denyse, 2023 was definitely a highs and lows year for you and I'm pleased your Dad made it to the 100 milestone. Like you I am a worrier and it can really cause havoc with our health and well being. I know you were ill again this week so hopefully you now have that in hand and can enjoy the lead up to the Festive season and spending time with your family. Take care and thanks for sharing with us at #WWWhimsy. Love Sue xx #TeamWWWhimsy x

Thanks Sue, I did re-read the post before publishing but as someone who shares her story and the truth I put it out there.

I do believe we don't always need to 'hide' some of the stories because without sharing how could we help each other.

Sending my best to you and M and family too.

Hi Denyse - it's interesting how life has the habit of working out - and often better than we "worst case scenario" people think it will. I shared a little video several years ago that I still revisit occasionally for the smile and the reminder. I think you'd enjoy it: https://www.worshiphousemedia.com/mini-movies/55173/worstcase-scenario?spice=1

I hope 2025 turns out to be a really good year for you and B. xx

I appreciate your words and kindness always Leanne, and will check out this little vid!!

Warmest wishes to you and R and the family for 2025.

I remember how sick you were at this time last year. It was so good your father made it to his centenary - such a big occasion for you all.

Yes it was an awful time November into December Jo, but somehow I got through and Dad did get the centenary birthday he enjoyed.

It was good, even though we all wondered 'would he make it'.

You’re hard on yourself.. everyone’s ‘just getting through life’ sometimes & yet you put extra pressure on yourself to make things perfect. I love your writing & honesty & think you should cut yourself some slack & remember that people are grateful just for the effort. I would be! Xx

Ah yes I am aware I am...and I am slowly learning to undo some of those thinking patterns that have made me so, Pippa. I have the reasons alright but I am no longer having to prove 'anything to anyone' after my decades of doing so via work and family.

The body is letting me know and the kindness from others such as you reminds me this is OK to slow down...

Thanks for your warm message of kindness.

Take care,

Denyse x
