As always, I am happy to see you doing what is best for you, Denyse. We will, of course, miss you at the weekly linkup. I'll check in on occasion, and hope you'll stop by to see me once in a while too. XO

I first thought you'd quit writing! That would have been sad, but also you need to do what you need to do. I'm glad you'll still be around, just not on link-ups. I can understand that. Link-ups are fun but can also be stressful to keep up with.

I don't really use traditional social media anymore (only Facebook, mostly to be updated about local events but at least I still exist there) but I'll follow you here on Substack!

You'll be missed in the blogging world, but I'm glad to read you'll continue to write. You need to do what's best for you. I've reduced my presence in some linkups only because I tend to read everything and know I don't really have the time to do that. It works better for me to duck in and out. Some weeks I read them all, other weeks not so much. It doesn't mean I don't care, more that I'm managing my capacity (see what I did there?)

Thanks for your kind words Jo.

And yes to "that managing capacity" thing...which I did not know I needed to do until "It looked me in the eye" HA!

I am learning to put myself first. New concept!

Take care,

Hi Denyse, we all need to do what we feel is best for our self care at each phase of our lives. You'll be missed at #WWWhimsy and around the blogosphere but everyone understands. I am finding I cope with much less now than I used to. At the moment I am committed to #WWWhimsy and can only cope with that ... so I only manage to read and respond to comments on my weekly posts and to read and comment on those posts that are linked up with #WWWhimsy. This is not because I don't care about other bloggers that don't link up. It's because I just don't have the time or mental capacity at the moment having been through so much of my own trauma lately. I will try my best to keep in touch though and I wish you all the best and hope that the days ahead for you are full of happiness and joy and that you flourish! love Min xo

Thanks so much Min.

I am now the person who needs to follow her own advice and that's what I am doing and why.

It was likely to happen soon anyway but now is best as I am taking my doctor's orders about self care very seriously.

Thanks for your blogging connection and friendship.

Oh my goodness. But you'll keep writing from time to time? We must do that meet up as it's been far too long. Will PM you. Capacity is a good thing to be mindful of. I was planning on starting #FavouriteFotos linky again but for now it's on hold as I'm still getting myself in order (and as you can see, still lagging in my commenting on others posts...but I do get there in the end). I think it's okay to have no structure or routine in your blogging - link up when you feel like it, post when you feel like it. It's not mandatory when it's a hobby. Hope the trauma heals and the burn out dissipates as you give yourself a break!

Thank you. You have been a kind blogging friend for over a decade. I appreciate that.

I did mention I will be continuing to write on Substack.

It's the end of my blogging life so to speak...after a LONG time...and the linking and commenting.

I have decided my health comes first..and after the last 2+ years this is a good thing.

I am using my time to benefit my inner health and as such am going very slowly into the new year.

Take care,

Denyse

Hi Denyse - I made the decision to not participate in link parties a year or so ago. I think they're a great idea, but just not for me anymore. Blogging can be uplifting and encouraging, but it can also become a commitment that takes over more of your headspace than it needs to. I think that you're being proactive in your choices and with where you want to engage. I find that the people who care will continue to engage, and those who don't will simply drift away - and that's okay. <3

Hi Denyse, sometimes you feel torn, don't you but you need to do what is right for you. We need to feel relaxed and not pressured into things as well and although you will be missed at the link ups, writing in this space on Substack is your happy place. Keep going and of course I follow you on Substack so we will still be in touch. Take care. xx

I did let it sit for a while Sue as I made the road to recovery the priority and decided what I need to change and the blogging connections is one.

I will always be interested in how people I care for and about like you are going of course.

Thanks for your kindness always.

I will link this up on Friday for WBOYC but no reply required...

I am enjoying Substack very much.

And thanks again,

Thanks Deb, I know I needed to decide and when it happened today..I let it happen.

Yes things have been rather hard and I am learning a lot about what I want and need to do to stay well.

And yes to finishing up..but will of course, in my own way, not lose connections of meaning.

I will add this post to Friday's WBOYC but don't comment again....ha!

Appreciate your kindness and connections always.
