Welcome to Denyse Whelan Writes Here.
Since late 2024 and into 2025 I have been considering my plans for ‘continuation’ of blogging connections…including link ups and following blogs as I have.
I made a pretty big promise to myself when I came up with my Words for 2025:
I am being MINDFUL of my CAPACITY
Now that sounded well and good, right?
I got quite a shock…to my old perfectionist me…when my capacity turned out to be different to my former thinking and ways.
And I note here for my remembering…
So, here I am.
Now a month into 2025 and some temporary decisions I made recently are now becoming fixed.
I am doing better than I was emotionally, but taking lots of time to nurture me.
I am taking good care of my physical health.
And changing my plans to best meet who and where I am in 2025 and beyond.
My big decision, now, is final.
I am linking up for the final time to WWWhimsy with Min.
I am grateful for all of my blogging friendships since 2011…before I even knew how to blog, and that people joined in with my link ups…Mondays, and then on a Wednesday.
I will share this post for the January What’s Been On Your Calendar too with hosts here.
What Am I Doing Now?
Self caring better than ever.
Taking notice of my body’s signals and signs it is not in sync with me….
Being slower in my life to deliberately take in what is important
Be nourishing of my heart and soul.
My G.P. called it “emotional exhaustion” in mid January
My husband called it “burnout” last December.
No-one it seems, including me, can escape the loads of trauma I have experienced for a decade.
I am going well, really.
I have learned some very important lessons (and still learning) about grief and life’s transitions.
I will continue to write here on Substack.
I will always be very grateful for the years of continued care and support from the blogging community.
Take care,
Denyse.
Here I am joining with Min and friends for here Wednesday’s Words and Whimsy today for the final time. Thank you for sharing this space, Min.
