You've had quite a year and I'm glad to see your progress, how far you've come with self-compassion and that you're ready to move on. I (sadly) know very well about burnout. Self-compassion is always a work in progress but as I see it, it becomes is a mindset and the good thing is we can still enjoy life.

I love how proud you are for being an educator and having done the career you did, which is very impressive because it's not an easy job.

Oh thank you so much Susanne! Your words are kind and you share with personal insight I know. It was helpful for me today to both come to the conclusion I did about my Substack and to change the ways in which I connect to the heart of what I know and love best. Education and helping others learn too. I am sorry you too know about burnout but the change these days in sharing it means we feel less alone! Take care and thanks again my friend. Denyse x

A lovely post Denyse. Youve put in a real lot of self compassionate work this year. It's been great to see your progress. Some educators are made, and some are born. I reckon you've been a born educator and a few degrees have enhanced your skills. Once an educator, always an educator. To me it just takes on different forms and shapes and places. Youve been 'educating' people all along your journey and more recently its been through your inspirational posts. I wonder where Denyse the educator will be sharing and guiding others next ?

Oh wow! Thanks so much Liz for your kind observations and words. I think ‘born educator’ applies …I knew from age 11 it was the career for me. I am so fortunate to have been in education, and a lot of that experience did help me navigate those challenging oral cancer years too. Take care warm wishes, Denyse
