I love that you gave it a go and was brave enough to decide that it wasn't for you. The great thing about you is that you know yourself so well - you know the things that are for you and the things that make you happy. I am confident you'll be doing a lot more of those things. Also very jealous that you got to see lovely Sanch - I wish I could have teleported myself and joined you :)

I think it's not so much about admitting your age as admitting your body. I noticed when i did the treetops thing with my youngest that it was so much harder than when I did it with my eldest. Everyone laughed at my funny story (smashed myself in the process) but I knew that it wasn't a joke. It wasn't just that time, I would progressivvely find it harder. That's an extreme example but it's all things. Things we've done with ease become that bit harder for one reason or another. Being aware of that helps - like you did, you tried it out in a mini version. Nice tribute at the end too. They all do good (and did) good work,.

Another insightful post, Denyse. It's great that you can appreciate your courage in trying something and then in deciding it's not for you at this stage of your life and that true growth is settling into what is right for you.

I always enjoy following your thought processes Denyse. Sometimes your thoughts remind me of me. I always seem to have good relationships with those younger than me. Actually I think of people my own age as being old, but it wasn’t until I turned 70 that I realised I was also old.

HI Denyse, it is disappointing that you've had to change your travel plans to closer to home but at least you discovered how you felt BEFORE you were over there. Sydney and VIVID what a combination. I've never been to the VIVID festival but it always looks spectacular. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feeling with us at #wwwhimsy and have a lovely weekend. x

Hi Denyse, I really like your new photo and background - it's bright but less "busy". I think you're becoming so aware of what you are and aren't able to do now that you notice the physical effects of aging - we still feel young inside, but sometimes our bodies are telling us we need to recognize the aging process and be a little bit kinder to ourselves so that we can keep living the lives we love. x

I think you can change your image and background as often as the fancy takes you - that's the joy of having a page that's all yours :) And yes, we can do all we can to keep ourselves healthy and active, but we also have to give ourselves grace when it comes to physical issues that we have no control over. It's all about balance. x
