My adult children are very conservative about what they share online, and I'm very respectful of that. I check everything before it goes anywhere public because once it's online it's there forever and they have careers and personal lives that they protect and don't need to be worrying about something that I might share that compromises their privacy. It's a fine line we all walk. :)
I did get overly enthused with some of my need to share, and my kids/grandkids are never named etc but now it's all gone..and whilst it will change some of my thoughts re topics etc I am glad to have made the choice (again) now!
I love using AI generated images. As I said to my sister it’s funny when the person it creates has four hands - or not as the case may be- I hear you and agree 🙌
Ha! I've just made this substack private...so new subscribers need to be approved. I like this relatively small space here and don't want it to be changed by 'bots' and those who purport to be 5 Star Generals and Doctors!
I think you are very wise to think carefully about what you want ‘shown to all’ on the internet. I love your posts but I'm absolutely content just seeing pictures of scenery and nature instead of people
I think about every photo I post and ascertain permission from my children for their kids faces to appear. Indeed one does need to be careful although I once wrote a blog post called "broke all those rules" as indeed I have! Bernie
I used to do that too Bernie for my old blog and on FB but...with substack I shared a bit much..even for me!! Will still post pics of course...Thanks for sharing!!
hi there, I do enjoy your posts and find them a great point for self reflection as I age too. Good move to go draft with posts. Social media can be both a positive and negative space. I agree it's wise to be cautious and read the changes happening in the online environment. Given digital footprints last a long time, it's important to be mindful of what we put 'out' there. Meanwhile back to the restorative energy that comes from checking our pumpkin vines. Liz
Thanks so much Liz! I am very cautious by nature but also like to share...ha! Anyway I am slowly making my way through the posts and will feel better about what's here now.

Yes I understand and know this too...
Thanks Leanne.

This is becoming a real issue for me as well.

Thanks Janine, I have been aware of needing to 'pull back' the sharing of people images and now I have made the choice it is going to be fine.
I appreciate you letting me know you thoughts too.
Take care,

I rarely post on Facebook anymore. I absolutely hate the bloody algorhythims and the fact that they control who and what you see.
Good point. I am still 'there' and on IG.
