Thank you for sharing your gratitude walk, Denyse. What a lovely area to enjoy on your walk. I laughed when you said you are good at directions, because I am horrible and would be lost for sure.
I loved your video - and the most Sydney thing ever "OMG, we wouldn't be able to buy anything here now". Glad you were smiling. And I wouldn't hug a paper bark incase a spider crawled out of it. So you are braver than me!
Oh well, it was an irresistible tree to hug and I did not hold on for long.
A bit sad about the property market because we, and our adult kids due their changed relationship status over the years means we are all now renters for life...
As long as we get to stay in this lovely place now for a while yet that is good.
The Bella Vista house was a mansion...but not a McMansion as it was one off.
Good to see you out and about, Denyse. Isn't it wonderful to be able to drive and escape when the mood takes you. I probably wouldn't recognise much of Sydney now. We lived for 5 years in Baulkham Hills but I'm sure it has changed. Thanks for taking us to Norwest and have a lovely week. #TeamWWWimsy
It sure has Sue. Baulkham Hills still has lots of standalone houses but there are more apartment complexes going up all the time. I taught at Jasper Rd P.S 1978-1982 and we were overpopulated then that Years One and Two were located across Seven Hills Road at the site of the old Masonic schools. Fast forward to now, and I am back there, next week, on the great expanse of green where I used to do playground duty, to watch 2 granddaughters in their district cross country! A great reason to be back in Sydney. Thank you for your kind words and well wishes. Denyse x
Hi Denyse, I learnt the benefits of practicing gratitude many years ago but you've reminded me I need to put my focus there again. Nothing ever stays the same does it? Progress and changes to accommodate changing populations, demographics and times. How beautiful though that nature remains to ground and soothe us! I'm so glad you're finding acceptance and gratitude for your life as it is. Hope you're having a great week and thanks for linking up with #WWWhimsy xo
Thanks Min, it's interesting in the busy-ness and hustle of life, particularly what you have experienced in recent years, that something like 'gratitude' can be skipped.
Good to know my writing about it helped.
It is such a healing place, nature, I was glad to connect on a quiet Sunday.
Thanks for the link up. I am enjoying being part of Wednesdays again with you and friends.
What a lovely walk, Denyse. I’m glad it’s all still looking nice for you. We sold our much loved home of 30 years when we moved into an apartment five years ago and when we recently drove past our old home we were sad to see our once-lovely garden totally overgrown and the house looking very neglected. I think sometimes people buy a house because they love the look of it but then aren’t willing to put in the effort to keep it that way. Take care, Kate x
Thanks Kate. Yes I’ve been back to the last house we sold and one my husband did all the outside work on as well as in and you can tell it’s not loved anymore, I hear you!
Hi Denyse - lovely that you can look back with gratitude and also recognize all that your hard work achieved over the decades that have passed. You may not be in a 2 million dollar house, but you do have a lovely home and a landlord to look after any hiccups along the way. Keep that gratitude flowing. x

Thanks Leanne, I have learned a LOT about being grateful as you know...and it pays dividends.
Lovely to know you pick all that up too about me
Take care,
Denyse x
