Welcome to Denyse Whelan Writes Here!
Thank you for reading…and if you care to share my substack I am grateful.
Today I’m needing a break from the words…they are feeling heavy for me right now…so it’s to my camera roll I go.
It’s October now and we are in our second month of Spring in Australia.
How’s the weather?

Photos above of local waterways and Sydney Harbour near where I used to live growing up.
It doesn’t seem to be able to make up its mind…but nature knows and
SPRING is here.
Our back garden..we are SO hopeful those sweet peas will blooooom soon!

More of our lovely colours of Spring in the back garden. Joyful to see each day!

These are the ‘vandals’….I came upon walking on a footpath last week in Dural. Destroying local bottle brush trees in their wake!
DAYLIGHT SAVING (no S!)
AND it’s ‘that time of year’ in Australia …when the clocks SPRING forward…
This is a favourite clock of ours…we enjoy the chimes throughout the day.
In fact in some parts of Australia the clocks will be going forward one hour on Sunday morning. I’d rather it be the original 4 months but it’s 6 months…do you like daylight saving? I am fussy about it not being savings!
Wherever you are today may you go well!
Denyse.
Here I am joining with Min and friends for here Wednesday’s Words and Whimsy today.

I quite like not having to change the clocks, although it does my head in that we're so out of sync with the rest of the Eastern states for 6 months. I normally ring my parents at 5, but now have to diary to do it an hour earlier so I don't interrupt their meal times. Then there's the inconvenience of flight schedules and... don't get me started!
Hi Denyse, The cockatoos have a great time with those flowers don't they? I love that clock! We are currently 'enjoying' autumnal temps over here with a mixed bag of drizzle, sunshine, wind and clouds - some days are quite warmish but it's a beautiful place to be regardless of the weather. Enjoy your spring and I agree about the no 's' on daylight saving. Hope you're doing OK.
