Welcome to Denyse Whelan Writes Here.
Autumn Is Almost Over...winter is on its way.
Today is Wednesday 28 May 2025.
Here’s what life looked like on the weekend when the SUN finally came through after many days of RAIN.
Whilst we were safe and dry, many in our state of New South Wales were affected by massive flooding which is still affecting transport, business, schools and more.
Autumn is almost over and Winter arrives on 1 June.
What happened to this year?
I feel it’s both flown by and dragged…because I have not been 100% well…but coming good now. Phew.
In Australia seasons begin on the 1st of the month.
Hence:
Winter:
1 June…ending 31 August…to make way for
Spring:
1 September… ending 30 November ( my birthday!)….
Summer:
1 December…end of February (28 or 29 in leap year)
And Autumn is back.
1 March …ending 31 May.
Some Pix from Around Here In Autumn.

A small update from our 4 granddaughters’ planting of bulbs over a month ago..they are going well…the rain helped but now more sunshine please:
Last Sunday, as the weather had improved markedly from the many days of rain, I had a lovely drive in my Nissan Juke out to the The Hawkesbury area of Sydney specifically the parts where I could see the River. The mighty Dyarrubin (the combined first people’s name for the Nepean and Hawkesbury Rivers) was certainly “UP” many levels since my last visit.

And I am celebrating “feeling better” and “in the pink”….ha. It’s not a colour I wear much but here I am…
Thanks for your kind concern over time about my health. I’m grateful to shared how I believe I am making lots of improvements.
Warm wishes and take care,
Denyse.
P.S. I understand my substack posts do not open under InLinks or whatever link up system is used. I appreciate that many who read are subscribers and so that eliminates an access issue. I will continue to add my posts to Min’s #WWWhimsy link up on Wednesdays and occasionally to Natalie’s #weekendcoffeeshare.
Thanks
for letting me know about this access issue too.I am linking up with Min and friends too here for WWWhimsy and am grateful for that kind place in the world of blogging.
Your autumn shots are great Denyse! Pink does suit you by the way. I'm pleased to hear you're starting to feel a bit better but know it's an ongoing struggle. We've had a little rain here but need more, at least the tanks are 3/4 full again! Take care and it's great to see you here at #wwwhimsy
Your substack I can find easily, and Jennifer's takes a little more effort but there's a third one (Christine Hawks maybe? That I can't always get....). Anywhoo, pink suits you. The Sydney dam is overflowing I believe. So good in one way but not good in another. I think Winter has crept in early, even with the sun!
