Hi Denyse, what a whirlwind of emotions you've been through! I don't always trust doctors to be right. I remember my Mum and Dad - that generation and generations before them - thought of doctors as Gods and what they said as gospel. Don't get me wrong - doctors are fabulous and knowledgeable but not always right! If something a doctor says doesn't sit right with me I follow my gut feeling. I have excellent gut feelings and intuition! I'm glad you're feeling better now and I hope it stays that way! Thanks for linking up with us at #WWWhimsy ! xo
Thanks Min. I get that. I am still someone with a foot in both camps about doctors.
The one who told me I had pneumonia made the call as he "literally heard it" so I went with that. Given the various medical, dental and surgical procedures I have had over the recent decade I've built a sound basis of trust with those who care(d) for me.
However I am also someone with a great sense of 'connection' and if I don't feel someone or something is right for me I speak up. I admit I had to do that a couple of times with my head and neck surgeon (brilliant man who I love) because he could never remember the anti biotic that would be OK for me so I was asked to remind him!
Funny (not really) but true story from the surgery day when parts of my leg were being harvested the authority for me to sign said "left" because that was the original choice and in the anaesthetic bay, the adjusted form (after me mentioning it!) was given for me to sign.
Glad I am a 'details' person.
Thanks for the link up and (fingers crossed) I am feeling much better and want to stay that way!!
Denyse, I'm glad you didn't have pneumonia and you've recovered from the health ordeal over the Easter long weekend. Take it easy and enjoy feeling well! #TeamWWWhimsy
Hi Denyse so pleased it wasn't pneumonia although you still weren't well as you described in your post. Isn't it amazing how your GP made one diagnosis but when you went to hospital it was different? Hopefully you have it all behind you now and you can get back into enjoying life your way. Take care and sending hugs, Sue L xx #TeamWhimsy
You look well. We are such complicated instruments. One thing goes wrong and it can set off a chain...It's hard when you are run down as your base line. But hopefully you are on the way and continue to feel well!
Great news…I love your new haircut, your feel better/empowered smile….the relief shows! Take care and keep being positive, Denyse… I can feel your joy! Thanks for reminding us we’re our own advocates and we know when our bodies are not right! Bravo, dear friend! 🥰🎉👍
Thanks Joan. That feeling and look of relief was so good. I am still getting there in my recovery from burnout but today, 1 May, sense some of my courage and confidence returning.
What an Easter story Denyse. I knew you weren't well at the time, but didn't realise the hiccups you were having. So good to know that you didn't have pneumonia and you're feeling much better now. Long may your good health last.
Well that was a good news story mixed with a lot of hiccups and bad news - so glad you could skip the antibiotics and get on with getting well. Hopefully things will just keep on getting brighter from here Denyse - keep on smiling and look after yourself. x
Thank you, Leanne. I was very grateful for the 'undiagnosis' and now back to recovery mode over time. I just need to be, as always, respectful of the TIME it takes too...
Oh Denyse, I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve had such a difficult time, on top of everything else that you’ve been through. But I must say that you always (mostly) have such a lovely smile. 🌺
Thanks so much Kate. My smile has become the feature of my life since my mouth was reconstructed and I was glad to have it back. The times have been challenging but I am doing my best to have patience in recovery.

Thanks so much Natalie. It was NOT a fun 5 days for sure.
I can feel some of my confidence and courage returning and that is awesome.
Warm wishes,

I am so glad you are feeling better but how odd that it sounded like pneumonia one day and clear the next.
I know! The GP thought it was bizarre but I am so glad he was wrong in this case. I am beginning to feel more like me again..after a long time!!
Thanks Jo,

Yes Sue so very glad it was NOT pneumonia and yes it was some kind of virus..but that seems to have resolved.
I am feeling more like myself this week and will be slowly but surely (with courage and added confidence) getting into parts of my life I have missed.
Thank you for your kind and loving wishes

I always look well...ha!! When I smile anyway.
Thank you for your support and care.
It's been a LONG while coming to feel some of my confidence returning and I intend to go 'easy' on me as I recover.
Great as always to know people like you are caring for and about me.
Warm wishes,

Indeed I am very grateful.. still hiccups with IBS etc but I do sense I'm recovering! Thank you
