I hate to 'heart' this because I detest cancer and hate what it put you through. I am so glad you are on the other side of this horrible ordeal and can now share your experience to help others and hopefully to help you deal with all the emotions of that difficult time.

Hi Denyse, I reckon you are courageous and resilient. This would have been an enormous trauma in your life. Trauma can get deep within our souls and live there. I'm glad you are finding gentle ways to try and lessen the impact of your distress. Did the medical team mention about the emotional and mental trauma you could experience, or did they focus on the physical aspects? Liz

It was always about the physical but I also had great psychological help in the year before diagnosis. What happened for me was that I was so relieved to have an answer and did a great job in recovery and healing, that I was grateful. Hence asking to be someone to help share the messages via an Ambassadorship for 5 years. Every so often I would reflect on how much I lost with the diagnosis but not “Wallow” as such. I’m now of the understanding that I need to own up to the trauma and I’m getting great support from my husband and GP and now seeing a new psychologist. Thanks Liz for your insight and comment.
