I know that both being in nature and being active are GOOD for my body and brain…
and today I’ve added another dimension:
GRATITUDE.
I went on a gratitude walk in my street.
It’s been a day for remembering all that I AM grateful for…..and here’s how it unfolded:
I did not have far to go because my gratitude started here at the front door:
We are very happy to be living in this house, which belongs to someone else, and today our property manager agreed 100% with how well we (OK, mostly B) are improving parts of this garden sand yard, and that we ARE her for a LONG time to come. Grateful for this house becoming our home in our 70s!
Grateful I CAN walk with relative ease even with a right leg with no fibula, and for supportive shoes, paths that are made for walking, and eyes that can see the slippery autumn leaves and avoid them…..
Grateful for the chance to check out the hibiscus growing outside the fence up the street and that (so far) it has stayed intact.
Grateful that the owners of this house up the street who have success with their camellias and they are so beautiful because where we live it’s too shady for them.
Grateful for blue skies…on one side anyway, and no pouring rain (I got caught big time yesterday at a nursery!) to shorten my walk.
And we are grateful to live in a relatively well-cared for street and neighbourhood with nature’s changes heralded by the trees and the seasons.
Grateful for the many ways in which we have ‘landed’ back here in north western Sydney after 8 years away. This house we rent, and the street where we live are HOME!
Finally so grateful to my husband and our grandson who made improvements to the front yard and garden.
HOME….is a place and a feeling….and I am GRATEFUL to be HOME.
Have you ever tried a gratitude walk?
Take care,
Denyse.
Beautifully written and very inspiring!
Lovely sentiments
