Many years ago when there were ‘school friends’ groups..before the growth of FB, I was there as a teacher and a student from one of my Yr 2 classes way back told me the difference I made for him! I loved reading this Denyse and the photos are wonderful. Isn't it interesting to look back and see the different twists and turns our lives have taken. I can't remember any particular teacher encouraging me, but I loved teaching in Further Education and have so many happy memories of my students and how excited I felt at the start of a new course in September 💛
I'm glad my story about teaching resonated Karen. Thank you. It seems being teacher is something we both treasure! I too got to teach adults in their Masters of Teaching unit 2013-14 & most were eager to learn more from me around going to schools on "prac" and I was grateful to be able to help them practically too. Teaching the teachers was another privilege in the role at schools when I stepped out of the classroom! Thanks for sharing more about you as a teacher too. Denyse x
Interesting how some teachers leave an indelible mark on us isn't it Denyse? My Yr 5 teacher was Mr Clarke and I learnt so much that year - he was hands down a huge influence on me successfully completing my education at an A level all the way through. I didn't get to follow-up my acceptance into Early Childhood Education (no supportive parents for me) but still managed to do life well. x

I agree x 100. I reckon in some ways it's great but the burnout happened to me as a principal in 2002 as I took on far too much! Sigh!

Awww I am so sorry about your missing out Leanne. Glad though that you too had a great teacher in Year 5!
